Sealing rings ,such as O-rings and X-rings, are among the most common and effective components for sealing fluids and gases in industrial systems. Both types of rings are widely used in the automotive, petrochemical, chemical, food, oil, and mechanical engineering industries, wherever reliable sealing is needed under demanding conditions.
An O-ring is a simple elastomer ring with a circular cross-section. It is used in a wide range of applications as both a static and dynamic seal, for example in hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, valves, or fittings. Its advantages include a simple design, low cost, and high sealing efficiency when properly installed.
An X-ring has an “X”-shaped cross-section and serves the same purpose as an O-ring but offers better stability and reduced friction in dynamic applications. Thanks to its shape, it resists twisting and distributes lubrication more effectively, which increases its service life. It is particularly useful in rotary and reciprocating movements where higher loads or sealing performance are required.
