X-rings, or rather a type of seal that was developed mainly to prevent the rings from twisting in the groove. The special profile of the ring means that it cannot roll and therefore does not tend to twist. This is considered the main advantage over O-rings. X-rings have a square cross-section with annular grooves. The width and thickness of the rings correspond to the dimensions of classic O-rings, so they are interchangeable. The ring has a small contact area and for pressures up to 40 bar also less friction than an O-ring. The service life depends on the quality of the surface of the friction surfaces. We supply four standard versions, divided according to thickness [1.78; 2.62; 3.53; 6.99]. In addition to the standard dimensions listed, we offer the possibility of producing non-standard dimensions and in various material versions [NBR, EPDM, FPM].
Applications: Widely used seals in dynamic applications, meaning they are used in systems where movement and deformation occur. Used in almost all industries, for example in pneumatics, the automotive industry and in plant and mechanical engineering.
What Makes X-Ring Seals Better? Twice the Sealing Surface. Prolonged Seal Life. Prevents Spiral Failure. Reduced Leakage.
X-Ring Seals offer:
MATERIAL | PROPERTIES |
NBR | Resistant to oils. Used for most industrial applications. |
EPDM | Resistant to chemicals. Used for temperatures up to 150ºC. |
FPM (VITON) | Resistant to oils and chemicals. Used fot high temperatures. |
